Welcome to The University of Maryland Hearing and Speech Clinic at College Park! We have been providing individual attention and personal service for your hearing healthcare needs since 1949.  Our facilities include several modern research laboratories, which allow us to provide the latest and most technologically advanced services.

 

The University of Maryland Hearing and Speech Clinic is a training and community service facility. Our services and hearing aids are provided for a minimal fees by board-certified Doctors of Audiology working with students pursuing their graduate degrees in either speech-language pathology or audiology. These students are closely supervised by experienced speech-language pathologists and audiologists, who are faculty members of the Department.

 

Clinic Services

  • Many models of brand name digital hearing aids, including Phonak and Oticon.

  • Hearing consultations with a board certified audiologists

  • Audiological assessment and hearing tests for adults and children

  • Trial period on all digital hearing aids

  • Hearing aid repair & maintenance

  • Accessories include:  assistive listening devices (ALDs), batteries and moisture reduction kits

  • Loss and damage protection packages for all new hearing aids

  • Diagnosis of hearing impairment, including

    • Electrophysiologic measures of hearing such as the auditory brainstem response test

    • OAE (otoacoustic emissions) testing

  • Aural rehabilitation (training of listening strategies/speech production after hearing loss)
